Here's an improved version of the blog post:
Olive oil has numerous benefits for natural hair. It contains anti-inflammatory properties, helps prevent dandruff, and contains antioxidants that are essential for hair growth. One of the primary reasons I use olive oil in my pre-poo is to coat my hair with a layer of moisture before I go in with traditional shampoo. Shampoo tends to strip natural oils from the hair, but coating your hair with olive oil will prevent this. I always make sure to implement this in my natural hair routine before every wash. This is one of my top tips for growing hair long and fast!
Using a steamer is another important step in my natural hair routine. Steaming the hair lifts the hair cuticle so that products can penetrate the hair strands. After putting in the olive oil for my pre-poo, I sit under the dryer for at least 15 to 30 mins. My hair feels soft and moisturized after this steaming treatment. Skipping this step is a big NO-NO! You want to make sure that the products you will be putting in your hair in the next steps are as beneficial as possible. There are many hair steamers available on the market, and I have included a link to the product I use below.
I do recommend using one product that is not natural, and that is Aussie Moist conditioner. I use it before I shampoo my hair to detangle it. This conditioner contains ingredients that can damage the hair if not washed out, but it provides the slip I need to get through the detangling process quickly. If you know of an all-natural conditioner that gives your hair as much slip as this one, please let me know in the comments below. Remember, detangling your hair is crucial, and you should do it in sections.
I use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner that gives my hair enough moisture without stripping the natural oils from it. The shampoo cleanses my hair while moisturizing it at the same time. You just need to follow the directions on the back of the bottle.
Apple cider vinegar (ACV) is another product I love. I use it specifically to grow my natural hair long and healthy. Over time, products build up on the hair, and traditional shampoo is not enough to lift the dirt and oil from the hair strands. In this case, ACV is your best friend.
I like to separate my hair into sections before I use a deep conditioner like the Shea Moisture Intensive Hydration Hair Masque. I use a generous amount of the product in subsections and sit under my steamer again. This product leaves my hair feeling soft, renewed, and juicy. Remember to rinse the deep conditioner out with cold water.
Leave-in conditioner is a must-have for natural hair routine. It moisturizes your hair in layers and locks in moisture, leaving your hair feeling hydrated for a more extended period. I use the same Shea Moisture conditioner as my leave-in because it provides the same benefits as a regular conditioner.
To provide an additional layer of moisture, I use the Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie. This product seals in the moisture from the previous steps in my natural hair routine.
Finally, after completing all the steps above, it's time to protect your hair with a natural hairstyle. There are many styles you can wear, but the key is to ensure that your hair is protected.
In conclusion, developing a natural hair routine can take time, but it's worth it. Using olive oil, steaming your hair, detangling, using a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, apple cider vinegar, a deep conditioner, leave-in conditioner, creamer, and oil can make a significant difference in the health of your hair.
